Giant man beats machine...
Hats off to this guy for playing like a champion..
I'm saying it right now Andy Murray is hype, this guy is the real deal.
Last time he played Fed on a hardcourt grand slam he lost 6-3 6-0 6-0 which happened to be the start of this year. Insane turn around
Also, Federer was extremely gracious (i think this is his least favourite slam)

Lance is the Man..
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.

The big news of the week in the tennis world beyond the Roger Federer GOAT discussion, which in my mind was settled Sunday, is talk of Rafael Nadal and his always-ailing knees. At just 23, Nadal’s knees have apparently already turned into muck, and given the alleged rate of their deterioration, in a year he’ll likely be playing in a wheelchair – and probably still winning matches!
Can you wait? I sure can.
I’m already sick of this knee saga. Just as I was sick of hearing about Federer’s mono last year, in fairness I’ll say that I’m already over Nadal’s and his knee tendinitis. Unfortunately, if you are in my boat on this, we are out of luck and taking on water fast because this issue just isn’t going away anytime soon. We are going to hear about it during Wimbledon and especially during the hardcourt summer season right through the US Open. Cripes, might as well get used to it.
Honestly, I almost think Uncle Toni and the rest of the Nadal’s circle of trust are running some sort of interference or smokescreen. When Nadal was stunned by Soderling, I said that day that it was the first time in his career that Rafa had been punched in the mouth – and he was. And I was very curious to see the reaction. Well, this is it: Bad knees.
“I have been playing with pain on my knees for some months now and I simply can’t go on like this,” wrote Nadal on his website. “The pain was limiting certain movements in my body, which affected me mentally as well.”
Clearly the guy does have knee problems, I’m not saying he doesn’t. But for me some things just don’t add up. If he had been suffering for “some months now” as he says, why play Rome, why play Madrid or a full clay schedule that included Monte Carlo and Barcelona when the real “end goals” are the French Open and Wimbledon?
And where was this “limited” movement he speaks of? The Rafa I watched during the clay season and even in Paris two weeks ago appeared to be moving just fine. I recall some concern during his epic tussle with Novak Djokovic in Madrid where he had some treatment on his knee from a trainer, but did he ever call for on-court medical attention during Paris? I don’t think so.
If Nadal wants to internally rationalize the loss by saying he wasn’t psychically and mentally 100% right, he’s free to do so.
But from what I saw Soderling beat Nadal straight up. Forget the knee and forget the bad pink shirt which I’m guessing will never be seen on the Spaniard ever again. The Swede attacked early and attacked often, keeping Rafa on his heals throughout the match. Soderling even knocked Nadal down on his arse on one occasion in the third set, a scene reminiscent of Mike Tyson deliriously trying to shove his mouthpiece back into his mouth after James Buster Douglas dropped him in Tokyo some 20 years ago. (Note: Tyson never recovered from that loss!)
As for the injury itself, it doesn’t seem terribly serious if Rafa’s doctor prescribed just “oral anti-inflammatories, physiotherapy as well as progressive muscular exercises for both quadriceps’s” along with a few weeks of rest. And if that’s really all it takes from him to get healthy again then why didn’t they just skip Barcelona/Rome and sit the kid down for a few weeks in late April, or just skip Madrid and take most of May off?
Bizarre.
And why did Rafa pull out of Queen’s citing knee issues when he could have withdrawn by simply saying he was tired or exhausted and no one would have batted an eye. Instead, it almost feels like the Nadal camp wanted to let people know that Rafa’s knees were not 100% for the French Open. Excuse for losing? Just read that Nadal quote again. Hmmm…
But I guess that’s what happens when you get hit for the first time.
Then again, I could be way, way, way off here and maybe Nadal skips Wimbledon because his knees really are that bad of shape. But I bet this knee thing is somewhat overblown and something tells me that he’ll show up a week from Monday at 1pm and he’ll be just fine.

Crybaby #1 - Roger Federer
Sportsmen have always been torch bearers of ridiculous fads. Few of them overwhelmed us by flamboyant attitude while others managed to mop up our derisive approval, thanks to their weirdo hairstyles and apparel. There were always players who immortalized emotion packed one liners. And there are few who inspired a nation, drenching its people in vicarious pleasure.
Lately, there has been a disturbing trend. A series of high profile public displays of emotion(PDE). Michael Vaughan, former England Captain broke down at his abdication "fucntion". Football players always have a tap of tears, restrained only to be released on a hint of major loss. Roger Federer, arguably the all time best tennis player, has joined the list.
He was pummelled in the Australian open finals. On his turn to speak at the awards ceremony, he promptly turned on the water-works. Here is the picture of this "Man":
A weeping sportsman is an icon of feminized masculinity. Weeping is a symbol of abdication, powerlessness and a fickle mind. The image of "new" man, as published by the liberal retards of media, is devoid of heroism, bereft of responsibility and strength. Such a man is incapable of leadership, either by ability or charisma. These men must be dispatched back to boot camps of age-old manliness. A looser is not a criminal, nor a winner a saint. You loose,as you have performed differently from the norms of the society.
Every to-be boo-hoo boy must be force fed with these primitive facts.

Hermione goes to Brown... I suddenly like Brown a lot more
Hermione Granger studied at Hogwarts so can Emma Watson be far behind? Emma Watson, star of Harry Potter movies, is slated to move to the US to study, according to reports. Earlier in 2009 she had announced that she was going to go off acting for a while to concentrate on getting her degree.
According to reports Emma had applied to a number of degree colleges in the US and the UK but chose Brown University at Rhode Island finally. According to a source, “She looked at universities over here (England) but fell in love with Brown. She has a lot of friends there.” She had reportedly toured a number of universities, including Harvard before choosing Brown University. She was studying in Headington School in Oxford and in spite of an acting career managed to get three A-grades in her A levels.
Emma Watson is also being pursued by environmental group Greenpeace to be their global ambassador. She had previously said that her end of school project involved global warming and the Hurricane Katrina. She had also revealed that she recycles and prefers public transport. The eighteen year old star was approached by Greenpeace first when she had declared “I cannot not be green”.
Emma had also revealed, “My car is electric, I recycle, I take public transportation, I try not to buy and drink bottled water. I’m not perfect, but it’’s something I feel strongly about.” This lead Greenpeace to consider her as their global ambassador and a spokesman said, “Emma would be perfect for us. She’s posh, pretty, brainy and committed. She’’s also not too star struck to care if it’’s seen as vaguely controversial. She would really help.”

guess who's crying... again
MONACO — The tears streaming down Roger Federer's face came not from anguish but from happiness, and the person standing opposite the Swiss star was his new wife.
The 13-time Grand Slam champion, who is playing this week at the Monte Carlo Masters, spoke about his marriage to longtime girlfriend Mirka Vavrinec for the first time Tuesday.
"A few tears here and there," Federer said about Saturday's wedding in his hometown of Basel, Switzerland. "It was nice."
Federer also broke into tears after losing to rival Rafael Nadal in five sets in the Australian Open final. As he was being awarded the runner-up plate in Melbourne, Federer said, "God, it's killing me."
Last weekend, it was a more joyous feeling that led to the weeping.
"I got very emotional, you know, yet again," Federer said. "It was just nice to know that she loves me so much, I love her so much. It was just a very nice day. We had perfect sky, perfect weather."
Ahead of his second-round match against Andreas Seppi of Italy on Wednesday, Federer spoke only briefly about tennis, saying he still hopes to finally win the French Open - the only major he has not won.
"I hope I can win the big one," Federer said. "That's what the focus is here."
Off the court, Federer said he is surprised how different he feels now that he has a wife.
"It's a very special moment. I thought it to be a bit more relaxed, because we've been together for so, so long," Federer said. "It definitely does change your mind-set, your life."
The pair married in a private ceremony, and they did a good job of keeping it secret.
"If you want to get married in private, you have to go to Switzerland," Federer said. "They don't actually care over there. They actually want to give you peace and privacy. That's why I love being a Swiss and living in Switzerland."
Along with chasing a record-tying 14th Grand Slam title at the only major he has never won and reclaiming his No. 1 ranking, Federer is looking for a name for his son. They are expecting their first baby this summer.
"We'll see. There's quite a few books around that are that thick, so we'll see where it takes us," Federer said. "But, no, we haven't decided anything yet."
